Wild Garlic & Onion Quiche

This is a recipe of a quiche my boyfriend fed me last time I was in Paris. Yes, he is quite the cook and I am so lucky because we learn so much from each other. He is a total spice-master, loves spices and cooks with as many as culinary possible. 

I wanted to share this recipe with you guys because it is honestly so easy to make and also super tasty. Served with a nice fresh salad or tomatoes with some olive oil and balsamic vinegar, this is perfect for your lunch or even as a light dinner.


What do you need?

  • 1 round shaped (store-bought) puff pastry
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 onion
  • some olive oil or butter for cooking
  • 1 tbsp wild garlic pesto
  • a handful of grated cheese 
  • salt & pepper
  • 3 tbsp milk

What do you need to do?

Pre-heat the oven to 190°C

Slice the onion.

In a frying pan, heat the olive oil or butter and cook the sliced onion until soft and slightly browned.

In a bowl, stir the eggs with the wild garlic pesto and about 3tbsp of milk. Season to taste.

Lay out the pastry in a quiche or tart dish. If you prefer you can blind bake the pastry beforehand for about 10 minutes on 180°C. Then, place the onions at the bottom and add the egg mixture to the tart as well. Sprinkle with cheese.

Place in the oven for about 20 minutes and finish with a couple of minutes under the grill to get a crispy cheese crust.

Serve with a fresh salad. I love making a cherry tomato, red onion and avocado salad with some balsamic vinegar and olive oil. Yums! <3
